Thank you for your interest in Sunrise Montessori. Matching personal philosophy and educational goals for your child with the right school is an extremely important decision. To take the first step in getting to know Sunrise Montessori, please read through the following information regarding our enrollment process.
Sunrise follows a traditional school year calendar (late August-early June).
Children must be 2 years old by September 1st to begin in our Toddler Program and 3 years old by September 1st to begin in our Preschool Program. Parents wishing to apply at Sunrise should contact us one year prior to the school year they wish to begin. We do not keep a running wait list from year to year and will not begin the enrollment process more than one year in advance.
A classroom observation is the first step in our enrollment process and a great way to be introduced to Sunrise. The purpose of your observation is to see how the classroom functions on a typical day. Please note, the classroom observation is for parents only. It is important that you watch the classroom uninterrupted and without distraction. Observations will last approximately 30 to 45 minutes. We typically begin conducting these observations in mid to late October. To arrange an observation, you may submit an inquiry on our Contact Us page or call us at (707) 253-1105.
In late February/early March, applications are emailed to all families who have come to observe.
Within 2-3 weeks of submitting a completed application and $50 non-refundable application fee, your child will be placed on either our potential enrollment list or waiting list. You will be notified of your child’s placement via email.
If your child is placed on the potential enrollment list, you will need to complete the following steps before enrollment is finalized-
Attend a Parent Meeting with Sunrise Directors, Janice and Sabine
Attend a philosophy meeting
