Childcare
Childcare is available to Sunrise students in our preschool and elementary programs. Sign-up for this fee-based service is primarily requested at the time of application and in the weeks leading up to orientation. Space is limited.
Laura Michels
A recent graduate from San Jose State University with a Bachelors Degree in Child and Adolescent Development, Laura has decided to move back home to Napa with her husband and join the Sunrise community once again. Laura is an alumni from Sunrise Montessori and is currently in her Montessori Teacher Training Internship. In addition to assistant teaching the Sunrise Pre-school and Kindergarten children, Laura is co-director of our childcare program. Her fresh approach, energy and attitude are a joy to teachers and children alike on the Sunrise campus.
Jan Ilsley
Jan first started with Sunrise in 1982, left to teach at One World Montessori in San Jose for ten years, and returned to our school in 2006 to assist in the upper elementary and preschool classrooms. She is now co-director of our childcare program, where she brings
creative art projects, games and even cooking lessons to this fun-filled extension of the students' day. She has a teaching credential in early childhood education, and has received her Montessori training. Jan is active in her family's winery, Ilsley Vineyards.
Ilda Dennis
Ilda is an avid camper, as well as a baker, gardener, and seamstress. In addition to helping in the Bonsai room, she is a valued teaching assistant in our childcare program and is always on hand to read a story, push someone on a swing, or tuck them in at nap-time.
