Sunrise Montessori School

Meet the 2011/12 Friends of Sunrise Montessori Board
Jessica Tuteur, President

I live with my husband David and our 2 kids Lily (Sequoia room) and Marco (Maple room) on our family's cattle ranch where I am involved in the day-to-day operation of the ranch.

I have a BA in environmental studies with an emphasis on conflict resolution and mediation. In the past I have worked on development and capital raising campaigns. I am currently working in the wine industry doing accounting and inventory management as well as production oversight.

I enjoy horseback riding and other outdoor activities and I am a strong supporter of protecting open space and providing access to the public.

Pamela Gleeson, Treasurer

My husband Patrick and I are the proud parents of two boys, Cole (Sunrise Graduate) and Liam (5th year, Sequoia).  Both boys started at Sunrise as 1st years and we have been very happy with the Sunrise experience.

Earlier this year we also adopted two young yellow Labs, so our house is always bustling with activity!

I graduated from Cal (Go Bears!) way too many years ago to mention with a BS in Business Administration, and am now Chief Financial Officer at Santen Incorporated.  Outside of family and work I enjoy running, watching sports and reading (unfortunately a distant third with everything else going on).

Patrick has been on the Friends of Sunrise board for three years and has now passed the baton to me.  I'm looking forward to being involved for the next few years as we complete our time at Sunrise.

Lyndsey Richart, Auction Chair

My husband Seth, and I, live in Vallejo with our two children and Wheaton Terrier, Mulligan.  Sofia (4) is currently in Willow and Peyton (2) is a Bonsai student.  I am originally from the South, but definitely consider myself Californian.  I hold a BA in Communications and have previously worked in the wine industry, among other things.  Currently, I hold the title as Full Time Mom and a part time Stylist with Stella & Dot.

I am loving the opportunity to use my talents as a parent Volunteer with Sunrise and the chance to be on the FOSM Board.  Reading a good book (when I have the time), traveling, and being outdoors are a few of my favorites. I also love to hear new ideas and suggestions for our Annual Auction or any Volunteer ideas you may have for Sunrise. Looking forward to a great year

Suzanne Foss-Meyers, Secretary

I am thankful for this opportunity to serve on the Board for Sunrise Montessori.  I believe strongly in the benefits of a Montessori education for our family and am grateful everyday that Eleanor (Maple) and Henry (Willow) will share in that experience.

My travels have taken me several times to Europe and also to South East Asia, the South Pacific, of course Disneyland as well as a Management Training course offered through Disneyworld.  I have a BA in Design and worked for several years in corporate office layout and interiors.  After transitioning to telecommunications, I worked in Sales, Account Management, Marketing and as a National Sales Trainer. Before postponing my career, I worked independently as a National Training Consultant.

Now, luckily, my job is the kids.  As a family, we love the water:  pool, ocean, sprinkler — any chance to swim and get wet!  I'm excited about being part of Friends of Sunrise Montessori and doing what I can to help support our school in the upcoming year.

Laura Padilla, Annual Campaign Chair

I am a Napan, born and raised.  My husband Joel and I have two children, Dalila (6, Maple), and Moises (2, Bonsai hopeful).  I am currently taking time away from my true passion, school!  The plan is to go back in the next year and finish my undergrad in Biology at UC Davis.  In the meantime I have begun a wonderful new opportunity working for Solano County.

Being a part of the Sunrise family has truly been a wonderful experience that we know will only continue to expand our horizons. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to FOSM and give back a little to Sunrise which has given our family such wonderful opportunities for growth.

Katherine Jewell, Annual Campaign and Escrip

My husband and I moved to Napa ten years ago and are the proud parents of our son, Nathan (4, Willow).  I spent most of my childhood in southern California before moving to Ohio for school.  I have my B.A. in English and Master’s in Landscape Architecture.  I practiced at a local Landscape Architecture firm as a project manager before having my son.

I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and gardening.  I feel very fortunate to have Sunrise and the Montessori ideology as part of my child’s education and growth.  I am excited to have the opportunity to support the school as an active member of Friends of Sunrise Montessori.

Maria Beltran, Carnival
I have been living in the Napa Valley for the past seven years and loving everything it has to offer.  I am a licensed Architect in Illinois, where I was raised.  After devoting a few years to my career in Chicago, my husband, Phu, and I moved to American Canyon.  For three years I telecommuted and traveled frequently to Chicago with our daughter, Alitza (6, Maple).  As our family grew with our second daughter, Celeste (3, Willow), I put my career on hold and currently dedicate myself to new journeys with our girls. I continue to travel but it is for pleasure again.  Having traveled to Europe, Japan, and Costa Rica I currently spend most summers in my native town in Mexico visiting my extended family and cherishing time with my grandmother.  I enjoy spending time in our backyard tending to our unfinished garden and I am always looking for something to "remodel" in our home.  As a family we enjoy various outdoor activities, skiing being our favorite winter sport.

As a delighted past and current parent volunteer of the Willow Room, I look forward to sharing my skills and experiences in both rooms in the upcoming years.  Sunrise is a wonderful part of our family, I am thankful for being able to contribute to FOSM as a board member.
